I came to ceramics from oil painting after admiring the maiolica produced in Italy, Spain, and Portugal for many years and deciding that I needed to learn the technique. From the beginning of my first pottery class, I had an an obsession with clay that has not diminished with time.  It has only intensified.

Influence often comes from the exuberant and grand. I strive to give an impression of that while creating something more humble and less intimidating by leaving evidence of human presence with the imperfections that are natural part of the process that combine hand and clay.

My ceramics have been shown in galleries, including Cary Gallery of Artists , Visual Art Exchange in Raleigh, NC, The Block Gallery in Raleigh, and Sertoma Arts Center. I have also participated in several Art Fairs. I teach classes with the City of Raleigh.
